ATTENDANCE

After School

All car rider students will be billed for the days scheduled unless the office receives a notice via email or phone call by 12 PM the day of pick up.  Those students absent without notice will be billed accordingly.

Classes

Regular class attendance is very important in order to have a consistent and safe learning environment. Please make every effort to attend your scheduled class and arrive on time. You will be more likely to see growth and improvement with consistent attendance. If you are unable to attend a class because of illness or other commitment, please speak with the front office to schedule a makeup. You must contact the office prior to your child's class time for the absence to be considered excused. All absences will be issued a make-up token that can be used to schedule a make-up class. All make-up classes must be scheduled through the office in advance. Tuition payments, credits or refunds will not be given for missed classes. This is like any sporting event or concert, if you purchased tickets in advance, the event happens whether you are there or not.  Make-up tokens may not be used in lieu of tuition payments.

ATTIRE

Girls – Preferably a leotard, but t-shirt (tucked in) and athletic shorts (no jeans) will work too. Snug-fitting shorts or leggings are also considered appropriate. Hair should always be pulled back out of the face and off the shoulders and no dangle earrings or other jewelry.

Boys – T-shirt (tucked in) and athletic shorts (no jeans) or metal snaps.

CLASSES

Classes are divided by age group and ability level to ensure that each student is with his/her appropriate peer group. Most classes meet once per week for 60 minutes, depending on the level of the class. A schedule of classes has been devised to offer all ability levels at a variety of days and times. This schedule may be adjusted as needed.

Class Schedule

A current class schedule will always be available at the front desk or on our web site. Stop by or call the office to check the current availability.

Student-Teacher Ratios

To ensure the safety of both the students and the teachers and to provide the most instruction time possible, a target student-teacher ratio will be maintained. Parent & Child classes will have a target ratio of ten students per one instructor. Preschool classes for infants through four-year-olds will have a target ratio of six students per instructor. All other gymnastics, ninja, or tumbling classes will have a target ratio of ten students per instructor.

New Student Placement

All new students will be placed in an intro class unless authorized by the coaching staff. If a child has 2 or more years of experience, you may schedule an evaluation for advanced placement in the program by contacting the office.

Evaluation Procedures

Students are regularly evaluated on their skills. If a child is exceeding the rest of his/her class at any time during the season, their instructor may recommend a more advanced class and you will be notified through the office.

Illness Policies

  • Any child that has had a fever or been sick must be symptom free without medicine for 24 hours before returning to the gym.
  • Any child that is found to be sick here at the gym must be picked up immediately.
  • Should you learn that you have been directly exposed to COVID, please keep them home from the gym for 5 days or until you receive a negative test.
  • If your child is waiting on test results, they are not allowed to attend class/practice until you have received the results.
  • Should your child test positive for covid, they may return 5 days after showing no symptoms or have received a negative test result.  The CDC also encourages 5 days of wearing a mask.

FACILITY

GYM AREAS: The Main Gym, Class Gym, and Preschool Area
NO ONE is allowed in any of these areas except enrolled students during their appropriate class day and time. If you need to retrieve your child from class, speak with the office staff and they will get your child for you.  Parents are not allowed to stand in doorways or go out on the floor for any reason.  The lobby and the parent room are our only viewing areas.

RESTROOMS
There are two main restrooms in the lobby/office area with baby changing stations. Please refrain from throwing dirty diapers in the trash as it is against OSHA regulations.  If you need a plastic bag, please see the office.  You must take the diapers with you.

PARENT ROOM/VIEWING AREAS
We encourage parents and others to see our quality program and parents are welcome to observe classes at their convenience. Please be respectful of others who are observing classes and refrain from distracting your child. It is prohibited to eat or drink anything besides water in the parent room. There are snack tables in the lobby. Additionally, please keep feet and shoes off of the walls and furniture. Children are not permitted to run around the viewing areas or go out onto the gym floor unless they are in a class.

SNACKS/WATER
Please send your child with a water bottle for any classes and a snack for any practice lasting longer than an hour. While our after school students have a snack provided for them, other students need to bring their own or plan on purchasing one for a nominal fee. We have a vending machine with sodas and gatorade for $2 and bottled water for $1.

WASTE REMOVAL
Please place all trash and other waste in a garbage can. There are several trash receptacles located throughout the facility. Please help us keep our gym clean.

This NON-REFUNDABLE fee is due upon initial registration and it is renewed each year thereafter on the 1st of the month in which the initial registration occurred. The first child in a family incurs a $30 annual registration fee and there is a family maximum registration fee of $60 per family. Registration fees cover costs associated with matriculation and liability insurance.

Refunds will only be granted as an account credit in the case of extenuating circumstances and at the discretion of the office.  Refund requests will be acknowledged in a reasonable period of time. These credits will be considered for other BIO activities including classes, camps or kids night out ONLY.

A $15 fee per student is assessed on session fees not paid by the 5th of each month.

Discounts available on published fees

A sibling discount is applicable for the 2nd child or more in an immediate family of 10%. This discount applies to tuition fees and camp fees only. A multi-class discount will also apply to the same student taking an additional class in the same month.

Acceptable forms of payment are cash, checks, debit cards, and most major credit cards. There is a $35.00 fee for all returned payments.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

We follow the Forsyth County school system closings when closing our facility due to inclement weather with regard to delayed openings or early release. Closures of other nature will be determined with at least a two-hour notice via email, text and social media. On days of early release due to inclement weather, we do NOT pick up children after school.

PARKING

We share a parking lot with the tenants of other suites in our building. All vehicles MUST be parked in appropriately marked parking spaces. We have a loop around the lot for drop-off and pickup. There is NO parking allowed in the drop-off/pickup lane unless your child is actively getting in or out of the vehicle. Any vehicle parked inappropriately or left in the parking lot for multiple days will be towed at the owner’s expense. If you choose to remain in your car while your child attends their class, please park on the street.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Individual or semi-private lessons are available to students who need extra attention on a specific skill or those students who are not interested in joining one of our regular group classes. Lessons are available from select staff members for either a 30, 45 or 60 minutes and must be scheduled in advance and approved through the office. Payment IN FULL is required at the time the appointment is scheduled. Please stop by the front office or visit the web site for more detailed information on private lessons.

STUDENT ARRIVAL AND PICK UP

Classes will start at the scheduled time. Do not drop off your child more than 15 minutes prior to the beginning of class. Upon arrival, they can wait in the parent room until their class is called. Students must be picked up promptly at the end of their activity. Children are not permitted to wait outside or walk through the parking lot unattended. Children are not to be left alone. BIO Gymnastics will not be responsible for children not enrolled in our program and/or not participating in a scheduled activity. There will be a late pickup fee if your child is not picked up within 20 minutes after class has ended.

BIO Gymnastics will not be responsible for a student's personal belongings that are brought to camp, class or any other activity originating at the facility or any off-site locations.
